Overview

We are a specialist multidisciplinary department providing anaesthesia, peri-operative medicine, and intensive care for patients undergoing complex cardiothoracic procedures and for those with life-threatening cardiac or respiratory failure.

Our teams care for patients across the entire pathway, from pre-operative assessment through surgery, critical care, and recovery. We support regional and national referral networks, including advanced therapies such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and mechanical circulatory support.
